Dana's Creamy French Dressing
This is my version of my favorite childhood dressing, Creamy French. I still love it but have several favorites now. I bought a bottle and created this recipe from the list of ingredients on the back. It's better than the store bought!
Recipe:
¼ cup whey (can sub water)
1 tablespoon milk (for dairy-free use coconut milk)
⅓ cup white sugar
⅓ cup white vinegar
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1¾ teaspoons salt
¾ teaspoon paprika
¾ teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon double strength tomato paste (this comes in a tube)
⅛ teaspoon guar gum
⅛ teaspoon xanthan gum
⅛ teaspoon citric acid
½ cup mild tasting oil
Blend all but oil together. While processing, gradually add oil in a steady stream. Makes about 1¼ cups.
