Dana's Chocolate Syrup

You can use this as a replacement for Hershey's chocolate syrup.  Put it on ice-cream, in your milk or just eat it with a spoon.  Dutch processed cocoa is a much richer cocoa and I prefer to use it.


Recipe:

1-1 1/2 C packed cocoa (preferably dutch processed)
1 1/2 C water
2 C sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 Tbs vanilla

Whisk cocoa, sugar and water together in large sauce pan. Heat on medium low and whisk to dissolve. Bring to boil and boil for three minutes. Remove, add salt and vanilla. Cool and skim any foam off top. Store in fridge. Makes 3 Cups.
