Dana's Barbecued Ribs

I love barbecued ribs and have always considered them an expensive treat on the rare occasions I've had to order them at restaurants.  I've discovered they are super easy to make and you can buy ribs on sale and they aren't that expensive!  My kids have become so spoiled with food!

Recipe:

4 lbs pork baby back ribs
3/4 cup sucanut or brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 Tbs paprika
1 Tbs garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground red pepper (optional)
Dana's barbecue sauce
2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbs soy sauce
1-2 Tbs hickory smoke flavoring

Peel off tough membrane that covers the bony side of the ribs if possible. Mix together the sugar, salt, paprika, garlic powder and ground red pepper to make the rub.  Lay ribs on two layers of foil, rub sauces and smoke flavor on both sides.  Then press rub mixture into meat on both sides and turn ribs meaty side down. Lay two layers of foil on top of ribs and roll and crimp edges tightly, edges facing up to seal. Place in fridge for several hours or overnight if you have time. Place on baking sheet and bake at 300°F for 2 1/2 hours or until meat is starting to shrink away from the ends of the bone. Remove from oven. Either put them in the fridge until you are ready to serve them or proceed. Turn on your oven broiler or fire up your grill. Cut ribs into serving sized portions. Arrange on broiler pan, bony side up. Brush on sauce. Broil for 1 or 2 minutes until sauce is cooked on and bubbly. Turn ribs over and repeat on other side. Alternately, grill the ribs on both sides to cook on the sauce.
