Corn Dogs


Recipe:

15-20 beef hot dogs
1 C corn meal
1 C AP flour
¼ C sugar
1 Tbs baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 egg, beaten
1½ C buttermilk
1 Tbs oil
1 Tbs honey
10-15 Skewers, optional
Oil for frying

Heat frying oil to 350°F. If using skewers make sure your oil is in a tall narrow pan with oil as tall as a hot dog. Stir dry ingredients together, then combine with wet ingredients. Consistency should be a little thicker than pancakes. Dry hot dogs on paper towels and if using skewers, insert them lengthwise through each hot dog. Pour batter in a tall glass and dip hot dog into batter, making sure it gets well coated. Fry 2-3 minutes, until golden brown. Drain and serve.
