Chow Mien
Just made this for the first time tonight. The family loved it and its a nice change from rice with our Chinese food.
Recipe:
3 Tbs oil
3 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp minced ginger
4-5 green onions, sliced
2/3 C sliced celery
4 C large shreds of cabbage
8 oz dried Yaki Soba noodles or 16 oz fresh
3 Tbs soy sauce
1 Tbs oyster sauce
2 Tbs sucanut
Black pepper
If using dried noodles, cook them until al dente in boiling, heavily salted water. Rinse in cold water and drain. Heat oil in wok on high. Stir-fry garlic, ginger, onion and celery, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes. Add cabbage and stir-fry for another minute. Add noodles and sauce and stir-fry for another minute or two until the dish is slightly dry. Sprinkle with fresh ground black pepper and serve.
