French Dip

Super delicious french dip recipe!



Recipe:

1 4-5 pound beef roast
Oil
Salt to taste
3-4 tablespoons fresh ground pepper medley
1-2 teaspoons garlic powder
Provolone cheese
Au jus

Drizzle roast with oil and brown under broiler on both sides. Add 2 cups water, sprinkle heavily with salt and 1 tablespoon of the pepper, cover and bake on 350°F until fork tender (or cook in crockpot). Drain juice into saucepan. Coarsely shred roast, place back in pan or crockpot with the rest of the pepper, garlic powder and salt to taste  Continue heating and adjust seasonings as you like.

Eat with Dana's sandwich rolls, one side buttered, shredded roast on other side piled high, sliced cheese on meat, broiled until lightly browned.

Au jus:
Juice from roast
1-2 cups water
1/2-1 teaspoon beef bouillon
1-2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 cup red grape juice
1-3 teaspoons red wine vinegar
Salt to taste

Mix all ingredients together.
