Baked Spaghetti

Here's an easy, fun, delicious way to have spaghetti. I found this recipe on-line and adjusted it to my liking.

Recipe:

1 pound spaghetti (any type)
1/4 cup butter
1 small onion, chopped or 1 tablespoon onion powder
2 tablespoons oil
2 large garlic cloves, pressed or minced
1 pound ground beef
1 (28 ounces) can crushed tomatoes (I blend mine)
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
OR just use spaghetti sauce in place of the tomatoes, paste, Italian seasoning
1-2 tablespoons honey
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1-2 teaspoon salt or more to taste
Black pepper to taste
6-8 ounces cream cheese
1 cup cottage cheese (optional)
1/2 cup sour cream
8 ounces Mozzarella cheese, grated
6-8 ounces cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Pre-heat oven to 350°F. Bring a large pot of water with 2 tablespoons salt to a boil. Cook spaghetti, drain, stir in butter to melt and set aside. Saute onion in oil until soft. Add garlic and saute another minute. Add beef and brown. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, honey, red pepper flakes salt and black pepper, simmer for 10 minutes, adjusting seasonings if needed. Blend cream cheese, cottage cheese and sour cream together until smooth. Add spaghetti to the creamy mixture and stir.  Place spaghetti in 9 x 13 pan.  Add about 1/2 the sauce or a little more and stir. Add half the grated cheese and stir. Spread the rest of the sauce on top, sprinkle with the rest of the grated cheese, then top with the Parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered 20-30 minutes.
