Cube Steak with gravy

A delicious comfort food!

Recipe:

2 lbs cube steak
3 Tbs butter
2 Tbs oil
1/2 onion, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbs flour
fresh ground black pepper
4 beef bouillon cubes
1 1/2-2 C water
1 Tbs sucanut
1 Tbs white wine vinegar
a little heavy cream

Melt butter and oil.  Add the steak, onion and garlic and brown steaks on both sides.  Remove the steaks to a plate.  Add the flour to the drippings and cook for a minute.  Add the rest but the cream and stir until thickened.  Add the meat back to the gravy, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.  Add a little cream and serve with potatoes of any kind.
