Homemade Pork and Beans
I found this recipe online and it's soooo good! I adjusted it slightly but it's a good basic recipe that you can add anything you want to. I usually add sliced hotdogs just to make it a little more interesting.
Recipe:
4 cups dry navy beans
1-2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon molasses
1 tablespoon mustard
Recipe:
4 cups dry navy beans
1-2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon molasses
1 tablespoon mustard
½ cup sucanut or brown sugar
2 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 cups water
2-3 slices raw bacon
Cover the navy beans with 8-12 C cold water, and soak overnight.
Drain your beans and cover again with water and cook until tender, adding more water if needed to keep 1 inch of water above beans. You can use a crock pot, Instant pot or on the stove. Add the rest of the ingredients, cover and cook on low for a few hours or until beans are completely tender and soft and everything is well cooked, adding more water if needed.
