Filipino-Style Garden Salad
We just tried this salad to go with a Filipino meal. It's very light and refreshing, and the fish sauce gives it an Asian flavor.
Recipe:
6 large lettuce leaves, torn or chopped
1 cucumber, thinly sliced
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 tomato, cut in wedges
Dressing:
1/4 C sugar
1/4 C vinegar
1 tsp fish sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Mix dressing ingredients by shaking or stirring until sugar and salt are dissolved. Combine vegetables and toss. Pour dressing over vegetables just before serving.

Really like how this salad keeps things simple but still feels thoughtful and well put together. It’s the kind of side that works with almost anything and brings a fresh balance to the meal without trying too hard.
ReplyDeleteIt also fits nicely with the fresh, casual style you’d associate with McAlister's Deli menu.
